i have been listening to that freeway album...i didn't think it would be as good as i thought it would be. I was always a ROC fan so im glad to see him come with and album like that...bad Promotion and A&R shit...i have the LUPE but havent gotten through it... i think i hear too many things i like and its too close so i almost dont wanna hear it but its good and focused.
i want to hear the new scarface.....but i dont know what new ground hes breaking...but his lane is stalled out so he can just tread water and be innovative...i know that new joint with tre songs is tight...nottz did the beat.

i heard some of that High Tek it sounded cool...

I have really been listening to the Dogg Pound's 1st album....i love the whole R&B feel of it.

i have also been listening to jay z volume 1 it was a fresh jigga real cocky but not really all that big yet

oh and last but not least the album from randy macho man savage....its my barometer...if u cant fuck wit macho u should stop rapping if u cant rap as good as macho man just quit cuz the homie knocked out a decent album....he even had a song with dj kool....and a song dedicated to "mr. Perfect" rapping double time south flow lol

classic i will post some of that shit

Well, besides my damn self I've been listening to a Best of Fela Kuti album I dubbed from my stepfather. It's this one jam on there called "Suffering and Smiling". Real dope shit.

The week before last it was Goodie Mob's "Still Standing"

My music switches with my mood, so when I need hip/hop to get hyped I play Cool Cee's new joints (especially you don't know me) and "That Good Dirty Water Mix Tape." That whole Mix Tape is CRAZY!!! I usually play Dirt 101 when I'm walkin into the job.

Cool Cee I feel ya on the Fela, I've been contemplating buying his entire collection but right now I have "Expensive Shit." I also like the tribute to him ahhhh Red Hot & Riot...I put a Sade track on my Black Broadway Page...check it out.

W. Ellington Felton also has a long list of dopeness that get steady rotation on my ipod.....

Prince's One Night Alone is a classic that gets me going on many different levels and moods...nah mean:)

Stevie Wonder's old albums like "Down to Earth" are timeless.

Jah Cure is good when I'm in a Spiritual Reggae Mood...I got this joint called "Green Grass" and it is euphoric.

Lastly Nina will always stimulate that revolutionary side that comes out ery now and again

Oh and YES this all will get played in the course of one day!!!

I attached a Prince Song from that One Night Piece cuz I played it yesterday in the car and clearly lost my cool. I was singin and guitar playin and car dancin and just plain old buggin.....just about crashed and was like wow Prince is Truly Great!!!

Yes, that new Erykah joint "The Healer" is super tight. Liked Common's last album okay but I haven't had the urge to listen to it since I took it out of the deck. My daughter likes that song with him and Lilly Allen.

I think Les Nubiennes are crazy sexy but I've never really bothered to listen to their music. I just like the way their name looks like French for "The Lesbians".

*sings* Big up!! To aaall my haaateeeerrrrs!!!

I feel you on listening to wack shit, I do too sometimes lol. But you got me on G-unit...I would neeeeeeever listen to that shit!!! Remember that fat chocolate nigga who did that song with 50 called 'So Sedictive'? Now I kinda dug the beat...but one day while riding in one of my boys car, he had dudes album playing. I never been so disgusted in my whooooole entire life....except maybe the time my daugher threw up day-old chicken soup and milk all over me. The cd was filled with 'acceptable' beats and really wack lyrics. I made my friend cut it off when I heard the nigga say something like, "Bodies on the floor, bodies on the chair, bodies over here, bodies over there!". I was like, "Yo, why THE FUCK are you listening to this shit!!" *sigh* God I hope real music makes a comeback!

Heron Gibran Bio

Heron Gibran is a bit of an enigma. A true renaissance man. It hardly seems fair to call him a rapper. The word isn’t large enough. Does not encapsulate him. If you talked to him for more than five minutes about hip-hip, the state of affairs in the music industry, politics, religion, whatever…you’d understand. Rapper does not do him justice. While he considers himself a Washingtonian, Heron was actually born in the Bronx, New York. Around the same time he was born, a new street culture was emerging. As he grew, hip-hop grew. As hip-hop expanded, traveled, became more sophisticated, international…so did he. Lately, he has been working closely with long-time friend and colleague, Asheru (creator of the Boondocks theme song). Together they have performed all over the nation’s capital. Along with producer/emcee Aychell, they formed the hip-hop super-group, Black Lincolns, and released the breakthrough single “The Hustle”. Heron has also contributed music to the forthcoming Boondocks soundtrack. Over the years he has released several solo projects, the most recent being The Amnezia Haze EP. This underground classic gem is an eclectic collection of tracks, some of which were recorded overseas in Amsterdam. It also features “By Any Means” and “Dance With Me”, both produced by DJ Khalil of California’s Self-Scientific, who has also produced for The Game and Jay-Z. So…between globetrotting and helping to vitalize the DC hip hop scene and teaching graphic design to inner-city children with special needs, Heron Gibran simply defies categorization. He is anomaly in a musical landscape where simplicity rules. But he’s creating his own rules, and making coverts one handful at a time along the way.
